Galapagos Duck returns to Hope Island in October. One of Australia’s best-known jazz bands, they have been around since 1969 and are still active today. With 13 Albums to their credit, they have won national and international awards and played from Asia to America and Europe (including the famed Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland). Galapagos Duck helped put Australian jazz on the map. Don’t miss this Legendary Australian Jazz Band.

Jazz Singer ROBYN BROWN is bringing her show, “A Touch of Blue,” to Hope Island Jazz and Cabaret. With an extensive repertoire that covers early blues, swing standards, Latin, bebop, soul jazz, and self-penned originals, her particular passion is the songs of the early jazz/blues singers.

A show of classy standards and jazz-infused blues, all stamped with her soulful interpretation of these classic songs. Joined by Jeff Usher (piano), John Conley (bass), and Rodney Ford (drums), they will present songs from early jazz/blues singers like Lil’ Green and Bessie Smith right through to Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. This will be an evening of elegant entertainment, not to be missed.

Award-winning international jazz vocalist Ingrid James is one of the top jazz singers in Australia. She is an original improviser, always swings, and is skilled at embracing the lyrics she believes in. Her beautiful voice, wide range, and ability to easily sing difficult intervals, hitting every note perfectly in tune, is a joy to hear.

Along with artists Brendan St. Ledger (piano), Nicki Parrott (bass/voice), and Dave Sanders (drums), her quartet will give you a night of premium entertainment.
